THE “ENLIGHTENMENT” COLLECTION

Inspired by many Arabic proverbs and sayings that express Arabic wisdom, this collection was created.

Sea of love

Love has to be compared to vast quantities to express the affection and importance one has for another.
Arabs love to compare it to the sea as a metaphor since to many it’s the biggest and most endless thing known to mankind.

On the collar we embodied this poem reflecting one’s affection to others:

“And if a thousand loved you, they will love you only a drop of my sea [of love for you]”

Like veins

People can be partners and friends as well, inspired by that thought this poem written on the cuffs was created:

“And like veins you are close to me, so don't abandon me, and be like a lover, a great companion.”

The light of my eye

In Arabic we love to express our love and affection differently. We don’t simply say “I love you!”, we say:

“You are the light of my eye!”

Inspired by that saying the idea of the sketched eye that is stitched with a fluorescent thread as well as the word “نور“ which means “light“ illuminating the darkness came up.

In darkness the two elements light up emphasising:

“light of [my] eye“

And I thought it would not take an end

Like the Greek philosopher, Heraclitus of Ephesus said:

“The only constant in life is change.”

So even the period of suffering whenever we have it shall pass. Hang in there.

This t-shirt is a constant reminder that with every hardship there comes ease, and that is how life works.

The sanctuary

One of the most precious things in life is quite certainly the pure love we give to others. Unconditional and true.

In a silhouette that portrays the anatomic heart this poem was created:

“For you I have created a refuge between my ribs, may the residence be worthy of the resident.”

Patience

One of the most beautiful forms of love is probably being patient with someone. It is a trait not everyone can achieve. But hanging on to that really eases one’s life. That is how the idea of the saying:

“Patience is the key to paradise.“

with the praying hands and the little gimmick of the dove that is stitched in a fluorescent thread lighting up in the darkness this piece was created.

The whale

We all go through tough times, but one cannot lose hope. Inspired by the story of “Yunus“ (Jonah) this piece was created. It depicts the silhouette of a blue whale and the Arabic calligraphy forms the rest of the outline saying:

“Even in the belly of the whale there was still hope.“

This piece indicates that even in tough times and when things get really complicated and even when hardship seem impossible to overcome, there is still hope.

The wilted rose

The more you give people of what they already don’t appreciate, the more they will lose their respect to you. The inspiration came from the roses in our garden that when overwatered died. That is how we tried to translate this act in our daily life. Water might be essential to plants but in an excessive amount it would only harm them. This is for the ones who value people too much but tend to forget about themselves. So:

“Do not overvalue people, even roses die when overwatered.“

The Patience Tote Bag

“Patience is the key to paradise.“

That was actually the first sketch ever created. In tough times patience is the ultimate way to overcome the hardship. Being patient pays off in the end. This piece is unique since it has so many details in its embroidery. A little gimmick is the dove that was stitched in a fluorescent thread which lights up in the darkness.

With that detailed embroidery of that handmade sketch on it, you are good to go.

STAY TUNED, WE ARE IMPROVING - DAY BY DAY
